While Alissa Walker has excellent points, what she (and many others) want would take far too long before the good effects can be felt.

But what really grinds my gears are these two lines:

A generation from now we’ll look back on this one-hundred year blip in human history and shake our heads. We’ll remember this failed experiment, our temporary lapse in judgement. But we have to reverse this trend now, before we hand over any more of our cities to an antiquated, dying technology that’s killing us right along with it.

Cars are an old idea from the past. But believing that cars are the future could destroy our entire civilization.

Really? REALLY? You see the automobile as a failure and a sham and a WEAPON OF GENOCIDE? OK, so the last bit is an overstatement, but jeez.

TBH, I don’t mind a no-car world, and I might like it, too. No more blithering idiot drivers, no more need to fuss about splitting lanes, no more noxious fumes.

I just don’t buy the idea that cars are as bad as she (and others) thinks it is.

Most of her garbage argument ignores actual facts of life and can only be applied to densely populated cities.

“ A generation from now we’ll look back on this one-hundred year blip in human history and shake our heads. We’ll remember this failed experiment, our temporary lapse in judgement.”

Rich white girl says that all the things that have helped other people get as rich as she would be anyway are ‘a failed experiment’ and a ‘lapse in judgment’. It’s just vile ‘let them eat cake’ poor-hating from someone so utterly out of touch that they have no idea how terrible life was for almost everyone a century ago.
